Day 2 - 12/27/16 - Turin

Our first stop after leaving the airport in Milan was to visit St. Gianna Beretta Molla at the Mesero Cemetery.  We then drove to Turin to visit the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist which holds the Shroud of Turin (not currently exposed but we were able to pray in front of the container that holds it) and the body of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati  (you can read write-ups on the saints prepared by our pilgrims on this trip and the last one on a separate page on this blog- the Saints and Sites Guide).  We then walked to the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians for a private 4pm Mass in the crypt and then a chance to venerate St. John Bosco, St. Dominic Savio and St. Maria Mazzarello.  Beautiful weather today with the high temp hitting 62F.  Holly handles all of our C to F conversions....
