Day 8 - 1/2/17 - Pompeii to San Giovanni Rotondo

Our first stop was to visit St. Alphonsus Ligouri and celebrate Mass.  We then drove to Salerno, stopping for photos at a scenic pull-off overlooking the sea, to visit the Cathedral of St. Matthew and hae lunch before driving an hour and a half to venerate St. Gerard Majella in Materdomini and then making the two and a half hour drive to our hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo - home of Padre Pio.

Our guide Valentina, and our bus drivers (gladiators of the road 

as Valentina calls them) Archangelo and Johnny.  Just as it should

be, a very kind, organized and thoughtful guide and not only

one, but two, very funny, very thoughtful drivers who have 

wowed us on multiple occasions with taking the bus around

extremely tight corners and lots of hairpin turns going up and down

some mountains.  God blessed us with a team who really care 

for our kids.
